1st Simou AgroFest – Simou
The 1st Simou AgroFest is an all-day celebration dedicated to agricultural production, gastronomy, tradition and the culture of rural Cyprus. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet local producers and craftspeople, taste traditional foods and take part in hands-on activities highlighting traditional techniques and rural practices. The programme includes wheat threshing and milling, the preparation and cutting of trahanas, the making of halloumi and anari, as well as freshly prepared palouzes. Chryso Lefou will prepare kattimerka on site, while exhibitions of agricultural products, handicrafts, paintings and photographs will also be held. Traditional dances, live music by Stefanos Pelekanis and his musical group, children’s activities and demonstrations of traditional crafts complete the festival programme.
