The Glytzisto Festival in Koilani is a sweet, family-friendly and traditional celebration dedicated to glytzisto, the village’s distinctive local sweet. The people of Koilani present the art of preparing this delicacy, made from thin strips of dough that are fried, dipped in syrup and sprinkled with almonds, cinnamon and sugar.
A standout highlight of the day will be the creation of the first-ever Jumbo Glitzisto, as well as the first presentation of glitzista prepared in traditional clay vessels. This special experience will invite visitors to discover and celebrate the rich traditions, local heritage, and folk artistry of the island.
