The Potato Festival in Avgorou celebrates one of the most characteristic products of the Kokkinochoria, the red-soil villages.
The area is known for its fertile red earth and for the production of high-quality potatoes. At the festival, visitors can taste Cypriot potatoes cooked in both traditional and alternative ways, discover different potato varieties and learn about potato cultivation. The event also includes an exhibition of agricultural machinery and a music programme.
