The Bee Museum showcases the lifestyle and occupations of the residents of Kato Drys and the surrounding area from ancient times up to the invention of machinery. It is a private museum, founded in 2007 as part of financial support from European funds aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises involved in agritourism.
The museum is dedicated to the Cypriot volunteers of 1912 (Balkan Wars), as it is located in the birthplace of Iosif Tsamillis, who participated in that victorious campaign alongside approximately 1,800 other Cypriots.
The museum contains over 1,000 exhibits and spans six rooms:
• Room 1: The history of beekeeping and winemaking
• Room 2: Agricultural tools
• Room 3: Household utensils (bread kneading, halloumi-making, and more)
• Courtyard: Large clay jars, wine vessels, zivania distiller, oven, laundry basin, and ash water container
• Upper Floor: A room with a loom and woven textiles, including an ancient carved wooden bed
