Τα ζώα έσερναν τη δουκάνη κυκλικά, για ώρες, πάνω από τα δεμάτια. Ο γεωργός, τον οποίο ονόμαζαν αλωνευτή, έβαζε μια καρέκλα και καθόταν πάνω στη δουκάνη.
