Training for the Creation of New Employment Opportunities
To adults interested in engaging in the field of traditional food production and processing, by providing training through an interactive platform and hands-on workshops.


General Information about the Project
The program (2018-1-MK01-KA204-047143) placed particular emphasis on adult groups with fewer educational opportunities and limited skills.
The training topics included traditional food preparation workshops, training in presentation and communication skills, as well as digital skills, social media marketing, and communication in foreign languages.
The project lasted for 2 years (2018–2020) and involved, in addition to the Cyprus Food and Nutrition Museum, the following 3 organizations:

The main activities of the program focused on:
Exchange visits among partner organizations.
Development of an online platform featuring educational material for adults working in or interested in entering the field of traditional food production.
The platform included the following modules:
Module 1: Basic food preparation vocabulary in English
Module 2: Traditional foods and dishes in the four participating countries (similarities and differences)
Module 3: Preparation of traditional dishes for individuals with special dietary needs
Module 4: Food safety, legislation, regulations, and implementation
Module 5: Developing sustainable and profitable businesses in the traditional food sector
Collection of best practices, compiled in an online e-book. This included:
Adult education organizations in each participating country
Free resources and materials
Labor market needs for adults
Good practices and training programs offered by various adult education providers
Organization of training and educational meetings.
