Name - Origin
Μελιντζάνα.
Melintzána. It is a vegetable with a dark purple colour (Petrou-Poietou 2013, article Βαζάνι, 30).
It is eaten cooked (roasted in the oven or on the grill, fried or boiled) and is a basic material in laderá dishes (Babiniotis 2005, article μελιτζάνα,η 1069).
