The inhabitants of Kythrea village would skillfully collect the crabs from Kefalovryso, the village's river, and barbecue them on the charcoal. They would eat them with salt and lemon. Small crabs were fried in batter and eaten with lemon (Petasi G, 1992, p. 258).
