Κόλιαντρος.
Koliandros (coriander) is a herbaceous aromatic plant, the leaves and seeds of which are used in cooking, confectionery and pharmaceuticals (Babiniotis 2005, entry κολίανδρο και κορίανδρο,το, 916).

Functional and symbolic role
George Luke, in their Glossary, notes that since coriander has magical power, it is considered ominous to step over coriander, as it can cause disputes and quarrels. So, there is even the following proverb: 'A seed of coriander in the middle (between two people) even if it has magical power' (Kypri 1979 [2002²], κόλιαντρος,ο, 226)
