A sweet made with azarole fruit (Pharmakidou X. P., 2003, p. 170)

Processing method

It is prepared as follows: They boil the broth obtained from azarole fruit together with a sufficient quantity of sugar. When the mixture becomes semi-liquid, it is poured into glasses and other small vessels. When it cools down, it thickens and turns into a nice rosy pink colour. A bit of lemon juice is often added to the juice to give it a sour taste (Pharmakidou X. P., 2003, p. 170).

Festive Occasions

In Kampos of Tsakistra they used to offer ladapin as a treat at weddings (Eleni Georgiou and Anthulla Aristodimou, Kampos of Tsakistra).
