Xenophon P. Farmakidis in his Glossary mentions that it is also called zambouts̆ia (Kypri 1983 [2003²], entry ζαμποῦκκος, 148).

Nutritional Value and Importance in the Diet of Cypriots

Ioannis Erotokritos in his Glossary notes that its flowers, when boiled, provide a beneficial juice (Kypri 1989, entry ζαμποῦκκος, 402). So does Eugenia Petrou-Poeitou, who notes that it is a tree, the flowers of which are used as a tea or for washing the eyes when there is an inflammation (Petrou-Poeitou 2013, entry Ζαμπούκος, 43).
