In Mitsero village, on Sunday morning, young people would go around to invite people to the wedding. They would carry with them a pole on which they would hang the hens that each house they visited would give them (Moudourou, 200?)
On Monday afternoon, all the village residents would go to greet the newlyweds; each family would give something to the newlyweds as a gift, like wheat, barley, potatoes. Some others would give money as a gift. A feast would follow with the parents and close relatives hanging money (pounds) on the newlyweds' clothes while dancing (Georgiou, 1989, p. 67)
