Tertzellouthkia or tzertzellouthkia
Name - Origin
Cookies with epsima (grape syrup) shaped like small rings (Pharmakidou XP, 2003, p. 350)
Their name derives from their shape: krikos (ring), krikellos, hritzellos, hritzellin, tertzellin, tertzelloudin (small tertzellin) (Pharmakidou XP, 2003, p. 350).
They were made with simple dough (flour and water). They were immersed for a minute in hot water and then they were topped with epsima (grape syrup).
