The following is mentioned for the village of Peristeronopigi: In 1937, Hampi Parla's wife, Sarra, was collecting about 500 okas of "flοungo" (curdled milk). Then her husband would take it to Athiainou, where kaskavali cheese was produced (Michalakopoulou-Charalambous, 1998 p.340).
