Pitsilia fountoukia (hazelnuts) are edible nuts of two main varieties: 'Ntópia' or 'Makroulá' (Corylus maxima) and 'Peratiká' (Corylus avellana).

A dessert with cream in filo pastry and syrup. It was customary to serve it during cheesefare week.

Galatouna - sow thistle

A wild green of Cyprus, which takes its name from the milky juice of its leaves. It was eaten boiled with oil and lemon juice.
