The main objective of the program was to exchange best practices on how cultural institutions and museums can contribute to professional learning.

A few words about the project and the partners

Project Duration and Main Activities

The project had a duration of 36 months (from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2021).

The main activities of the project included:

Exchange visits between the partner organizations.

Development of three educational modules, which were implemented with students in vocational education settings (such as Technical Schools, Institutes of Post-Secondary Education, and Hospitality Schools).

Collection of best practices related to the core objective of the project.

Organization of training meetings in each of the participating countries.

In addition to the Cyprus Food and Nutrition Museum, seven other museums and cultural institutions participated in the project. These partner institutions focused primarily on themes related to tourism, culinary arts, restaurants, hospitality, and food heritage.

The museum specializes in the history of hotels, restaurants, cafés, tourism, and Finnish gastronomic culture.

Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral – Rijeka (www.ppmhp.hr) – Rijeka, Croatia
A museum dedicated to maritime history and the history of the Croatian coastal region.

Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (www.twmuseums.org.uk) – Newcastle, United Kingdom
Internationally renowned collections in archives, arts, science & technology, archaeology, military and social history, fashion, and natural sciences.

Associazione Emiliano Romagnola di Centri Autonomi di Formazione Professionale (www.aeca.it) – Bologna, Italy
An association comprising 15 vocational schools and 25 professional training centers.

Food Museums Network of the Province of Parma (www.museidelcibo.it) – Parma, Italy
A network of six museums dedicated to emblematic products of Parma: Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Parma ham, salami, wine, pasta, and tomatoes.

Croatian Museum of Tourism (www.hrmt.hr) – Opatija, Croatia
A national institute that collects, preserves, researches, and presents material and intangible tourism heritage.

We have prepared 3 lesson plans that were implemented in technical schools specializing in the hospitality sector.
